68th HPS Annual Meeting – Meeting Childcare at Camp HPS 2023

The Health Physics Society (HPS) will provide complimentary childcare at the 68th HPS Annual Meeting in National Harbor in July.

We hope you and your children are excited and ready for Camp HPS 2023–A Travelers Adventure! Our theme this year is Around the World, with tons of fun activities and decorations.

Your child is welcome to bring an item to wear or a favorite toy that fits in with the theme. Some of our daily activities include story time, themed crafts, board games, and guided playtime. The children will have lots of opportunities to use their imaginations through dramatic play with many of the items we provide in our childcare room. We will have activities and crafts for older children as well, including board games, card games, LEGOs, a Switch game system, Slime kits, and other fun activities.

Click here to register for A Travelers Adventure. Please make sure you have provided us with accurate drop-off and pick-up times so we can stay compliant with teacher-to-child ratios. We will need the following information when you register:

  • Child's name
  • Parent's name
  • Parent's phone number
  • Child's age
  • Allergies

Childcare will be provided through Taming Toddlers, LLC, a licensed and insured childcare-providing service. Brittany and Maya will be leading the team in a room at the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center during these hours:

  • Monday, 24 July, 7:30 am–5:30 pm
  • Tuesday, 25 July, 7:30 am–5:30 pm
  • Wednesday, 26 July, 7:30 am–5:30 pm

Please bring the following as needed to ensure a fun-filled day:

  • Diaper bag fully stocked—Pull-Ups, wipes, diapers, pacifiers, extra clothes
  • Water bottle
  • Snacks
  • Meals—breakfast and/or lunch
  • Tablet and charger for downtime
  • Favorite blanket for nap time (Note: we are limited to pack and plays that are provided by the hotel.)

We DO NOT provide meals for your child, so please make arrangements to provide them with a packed meal or pick them up for mealtimes. We will provide light snacks such as goldfish, bananas, etc. If your child prefers other snacks or has dietary restrictions, please pack their snacks.

Brittany and Maya have worked in a childcare setting for many years and look forward to many more. Aside from working, they love to travel, hike, binge-watch Netflix, and spend time with their own families and children.

Our mission is to provide safe, fun, and professional childcare services so you are able to enjoy your sessions. We plan a wide array of activities and crafts for each day to keep the children engaged and happy. Our staff is CPR and First Aid certified, experienced in special education, and experienced in childcare in a variety of settings. The staff has completed background checks and training in emergency response.

If you have any questions about childcare, please email Taming Toddlers, LLC.

We look forward to seeing all of your children this year!
