The HPS Laboratory Accreditation Program

The Health Physics Society's Laboratory Accreditation Program is now authorized to accredit laboratories that either calibration radiation survey meters or provide NIST-traceable radioactive sources. This presentation addresses the program's new internationally compliant procedures, the status of efforts to have this program recognized by the National Cooperation for Laboratory Accreditation, the training of assessors on the new standards, and the assessment of an HPS accredited lab. It will provide background and focus for the special session on laboratory accreditation.
