National Laboratories Closures Due to Federal Budget
Los Alamos and Sandia National Laboratories announced this week that beginning 21 October, the laboratories will shut down nonessential activities and furlough personnel if the federal budget problems are not resolved. Rumors are that other national laboratories will soon follow. Most national laboratories' websites state that their sites will be accessible but may not be updated until federal funding is restored.
