Nuclear and Radiation Studies Board 42nd Meeting

The Nuclear and Radiation Studies Board (NRSB) 42nd Meeting will be held 18 April 2023, 1–4:15 pm (eastern time). The NRSB welcomes members of the public to join them as Dr. Paul Black, cofounder of Neptune and Company, Inc., will discuss structured decision making for nuclear waste management; Dr. Andrea DiCarlo, director of the Radiation and Nuclear Countermeasures Program (RNCP) at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), will describe the RNCP; Betsy Forinash, acting deputy of the US Department of Energy-Carlsbad Field Office, will update the NRSB on the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP); and Dr. Wayne Newhauser, Charles M. Smith Chair in Medical Physics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and director of the Medical Physics Program at Louisiana State University, will present a recent study on about the future of the radiation workforce.

This public meeting will be held exclusively online and is free and open to the public.
