Radiation Protection Professionals Week is 6–12 November 2022. Each year, coinciding with the anniversary of the discovery of x rays by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on 8 November 1895, the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD) and other radiation protection organizations proclaim Radiation Protection Professionals Week to recognize those who provide leadership in protecting the public from the hazards of radiation. The dedicated work of these individuals ensures that radiation and radioactive materials are used safely and beneficially in industry, medicine, academia, energy, and government sectors, while protecting the public and environment from adverse effects of excessive radiation exposure. CRCPD encourages you to inform the administration of your agencies and to find innovative ways to celebrate this week and recognize the work of your radiation control staff.
