HPS—We Just Rejected the Null Hypothesis

The balloting period has closed and the results are in—Health Physics Society (HPS) members overwhelmingly supported both proposed changes to the HPS Bylaws:

  • Moving to a two-year president's term.
  • Reducing the number of directors from nine to six.

These changes will increase our operational efficiency and allow the HPS president to function more strategically. The Executive Committee of the Board will meet in mid-November to begin planning the implementation and communication plan for these changes. Stay tuned for further information on the rollout of these governance changes.

We are moving toward a more agile and effective HPS. We need your continued engagement and value your feedback. This is an exciting time for our Society and demonstrates our willingness to boldly reject the null hypothesis and embrace change.

Thank you.
