On June 9, 1999, the Health Physics Society received the sad news of the death of its first president, Dr. Karl Z. Morgan. Dr. Morgan was also the first Editor-in-Chief of Health Physics. A chronology of his unique and successful career is available in the June 1999 issue of Health Physics. This issue of the Journal was dedicated to Dr. Morgan for his many contributions to the health physics profession and to the Society.
