APS News Article on Federal Travel Restrictions
A recent article in the newsletter of the American Physical Society (APS) discusses the impact that federal travel restrictions have on conference attendance. In "Scientists Criticize Curbs on Travel," Michael Lucibella writes about a letter sent to the chairs of the Senate Appropriations Committee by the APS and 125 other scientific organizations that criticizes the travel curbs on Department of Energy and Department of Defense employees for attendance at scientific conferences. Lucibella also summarizes a March 2015 Government Accountability Office report that discusses the requirements and their impact.
