Scientific and Public Issues Committee

The Scientific and Public Issues Committee is responsible, in part, for HPS Strategic Plan Objective 5.1. The Scientific and Public Issues Committee and the president carry out the duty of spokesman for the Society (under the BY-LAWS Article VII, Section 9) as follows: The Scientific and Public Issues Committee is responsible for the preparation of impartial scientific and technical statements as it deems necessary, and the president directs how, when, and to whom such statements are communicated.

The Scientific and Public Issues Committee is composed of five members: the president, the president-elect, and the three (3) most recent past presidents. The immediate past president serves as chair unless otherwise designated by the Board.
