We feature three awards every year:

  1. John C. Taschner Leadership Award – This is the Military Section’s Senior award for member of the Uniform Services (Army, Navy, Air Force , Marines, Coast Guard or a member of the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps) who has distinguished themself in service to our country as a Health Physicist or health physics technician (HPS or Military Section membership is not required).
  2. Civilian Superior Service Award – This is the Military Section’s award for a person who spent the majority of their time in support of the Uniformed Services in a civilian capacity and who has distinguished themself in service to our country as a Health Physicist.
  3. Junior Military Health Physicist – This award is presented to a young military health physicist or health physics technician (civilian, officer or enlisted) to recognize excellence in (1) research and development, (2) discovery or invention, (3) devotion to military health physics, or (4) significant contributions to the profession of health physics.
