The Government Relations Committee reviews proposed regulations and legislation affecting the health physics community. At the request of the HPS president, an HPS Board member, or a Scientific and Public Issues Committee member, the Government Relations Committee will develop position statements or white papers on topical issues.

- Meeting Requirements
The committee meets on an annual basis, typically at the HPS annual meeting. Potential committee members should be able to attend the annual meeting.
- Skills Needed
Volunteers must have a working knowledge of key issues currently facing radiation safety professionals and be able to articulate these sometimes technically complicated issues in easy-to-understand language.
