by Columbia Chapter of the Health Physics Society
The Columbia Chapter of the Health Physics Society (CCHPS) would like to extend our condolences on the loss of Todd Davidson. Todd unexpectedly passed away on 20 March 2026. He was a valued friend and member of CCHPS, and he will be deeply missed.
Todd was dedicated to lifelong learning and the pursuit of continuing education as was indicated by his continual growth in certification in the hazardous materials world. Todd had was not just a certified health physicist, but a certified industrial hygienist, certified safety professional, certified instructional trainer, certified hazardous materials manager, and a registered radiation protection technologist.
Todd was always there to help others whenever he could. He regularly lent himself to helping people enter the industry and find needed connections in the industry.
Todd was past president of the CCHPS. He was a member of the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists (NNRPT) Panel of Examiners and Board of Directors. He was past vice-chairman of NRRPT’s Board of Directors. A celebration will be held for Todd by the NRRPT at their annual meeting in July.
Most of all, Todd cherished his family. He is survived by his wife Laura, sons Rhys and Seth, daughter‑in‑law Ashley, and grandsons Elijah and Ewan.
Todd was always giving to others and never hesitated to lend a hand when someone was in need. Even in his passing, he continued that generosity by donating heart valves, skin grafts, bone grafts, and corneas.
Please join us in honoring Todd’s life and in celebrating the kindness, generosity, and spirit he shared with all of us. If you would like to send condolences or flowers to the family, please email President@CCHPS.ORG and we will provide a contact.
