PIC Adds Web Page Minority Women in Radiation Protection

Emily Caffrey, PIC Chair

Last year the Public Information Committee (PIC) launched an initiative to document and celebrate women in radiation protection. We started with the only six female presidents that the Society has seen, followed that up with newly elected women leaders, and added a section on some of the impressive HPS ladies currently in the profession. Most recently, Sidni Moore of the National Institutes of Health, working in conjunction with Sara Dumit of the PIC, have kicked off our newest effort—a new page that honors minority women who have contributed to the profession. Our first article tells us about the life and achievements of Hattie Carwell. Learn more about this impressive lady here!
