Key Responsibilities
  • Assists Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) in the daily operations of The Queen’s Medical Center’s (QMC) Radiation Safety program.
  • Provides technical field support for assigned areas to resolve issues related to health physics, radioactive materials and/or radiation generating devices as applicable to Cyclotron and Nuclear Medicine operations at all The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS) facilities.
  • Serves as Associate RSO on all QMC Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) licenses and backup to the RSO.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or PhD in health physics or related field.
  • Hawaii State license in Health Physics or Associate Radiation Safety Officer (ARSO) status with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
  • Current board certification in one (1) of the following: American Board of Health Physics (CHP), American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine, or American Board of Medical Physics (Medical Health Physics).
  • Two (2) years of experience in health physics or related experience.
