Job Summary:

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and decommissioning services for gamma irradiators (and potentially x-ray systems) at customer locations across North America. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical and electromechanical principles, health physics, radiation protection principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer sites to perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, dosimetry, and decommissioning services on the customer equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions, utilizing electrical and mechanical expertise.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities and customer interactions.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Ability to pass FBI background check for Trustworthy and Reliability Certification.

Minimum Qualifications        

Base Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in electrical and electromechanical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of health physics and radiation safety principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively. This includes 100% weekly on the road (roughly three days per week) with remote home office work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferences   

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with gamma irradiators.
  • Technical certifications relevant to the field.
  • Within reasonable distance (<1.5 hours) from an airport that provides easy access around the country.
  • Ability to move/lift heavy equipment and tooling

Full Time or Part Time: Full Time

Work Schedule Summary: 100% weekly on the road (roughly three days per week) with remote home office work.
