Are there any recommended disposal requirements for older (25 years old plus) dental x-ray machines (two) which are complete? They are left over from the previous owner and I have no need for them (I am not a dentist). Thanks.

There are no radiation hazards from an old x-ray machine. To be more specific, there is no radioactive material in the machine. It produces x rays only when energized. The only constraints to disposal would be chemical, such as the oil in the transformer. S. Julian Gibbs, DDS, PhD
