I have heard that HPS offers educational programs called PEPs. How do I get more information about this training?
A
The Health Physics Society provides educational opportunities for those attending the annual and midyear meetings under the Professional Enrichment Program (PEP). The PEP courses include review topics or topics of current interest. These courses are two hours in length and are offered at a nominal cost to the participant. The course listing changes each meeting, but the courses for each meeting are listed and abstracted in the meeting registration material.
The courses provide four continuing education credits toward recertification of Certified Health Physicists. The Health Physics Society also provides the Continuing Education Lecture Series (CELS) for those attending the annual and midyear meetings. The CELS lectures include review topics or topics of current interest. These one-hour lectures are offered at no cost to the participant. The course listing changes each meeting, but the courses for each meeting are listed and abstracted in the meeting registration material. The courses provide two continuing education credits toward recertification of Certified Health Physicists. Joseph L. Alvarez, PhD, CHP Chair, HPS Continuing Education Committee
