Answer to Question #3300 Submitted to "Ask the Experts"

Category: Radiation Safety Careers — Salary Information

The following question was answered by an expert in the appropriate field:

Q
What is the salary of a radiologic technician?
A

I'm told by colleagues from industry that the salaries of radiological technicians range from $20,000 per year to $90,000 per year depending on the exact industry in which you are working, your seniority, and the number of overtime hours worked. Perhaps a starting salary of around $20,000 to $35,000 per year would be appropriate in the nuclear energy industry. I would guess that an average for experienced folks in the field is probably around $50,000 to $60,000 when the typical overtime load is added.
