With respect to radon, what does Activity Median Diameter (AMD) mean?

I believe the concept you are asking about is called the "activity median aerodynamic diameter" (AMAD). A Google search with this descriptor on the Internet gave over 1,000 hits. A number of references provide the technical definition of AMAD and describe its relevance and use. AMAD can be applied to radon and radon daughters like any other aerosol.
