Answer to Question #1478 Submitted to "Ask the Experts"

Category: Radiation Safety Careers — Career Development and Certification

The following question was answered by an expert in the appropriate field:

Q
I hold a master's in health physics and have been actively practicing although I only recently have had the need to become certified. In preparation I would like to attend a CHP Certification Review Course. Where can I find a good one?
A
There are a number of Certification Review Courses and we cannot endorse any one of them over another. However, many of the Certification Review Courses are provided by Affiliate members of the Health Physics Society. The Society Web site takes you directly to a "Buyer's Guide" of HPS Affiliate services. Scroll down the page to the "Radiation Protection Training" category. There you will find links to Affiliates who offer various types of training, many of which are Certification Review Courses.

I think the best thing you can do to improve your chances of being prepared for the certification exam is to become a member of the Health Physics Society. As a member you will receive our monthly newsletter which offers a continually updated listing of educational courses and opportunities, including Certification Review Courses.

You can join the Society on our Web Site.
