Answer to Question #1223 Submitted to "Ask the Experts"Category: Pregnancy and Radiation — Exposures not directly to embryo/fetus The following question was answered by an expert in the appropriate field: Q
I had a dental x-ray this morning (about eight films). But my
wife wants to be pregnant tomorrow. Will this affect her pregnancy?
A
The x-ray exams you had taken will not affect either your wife's
ability to become pregnant or the pregnancy itself. There is no
residual radiation as a result of the x-ray exams and, since there is
no radiation dose to the gonads, the sperm will not be affected.
