Bioassay vs. Air Sampling: Practical Guidance and Experience at Hanford

Abstract

The Hanford Site has implemented a policy to guide in determining whether air sampling data or special fecal bioassay data are more appropriate for determining doses of record for low level plutonium exposures. The basis for the policy and 4 yr of experience in comparing DAC-hours exposure with bioassay-based dosimetry is discussed.
