Medical Countermeasures: Planning Against Radiological and Nuclear Threats

Since 11 September 11 2001, the fear of nuclear and radiological terrorism within the United States has prompted many federal and state agencies to develop contingency plans for crisis and consequence management. The intensity of operations at AFRRI has increased dramatically in performing applied medical research, training healthcare providers in the management and treatment of radiation injury, participating in nuclear and radiological exercises, and consulting federal and civil responders and organizations.
