The UlTra@ System: A Three-Dimensional Tracking System for Radiation Surveys
R. R. Highfill
The UlTra System 3-D automatically measures and records the three dimensional coordinates of the location of a radiation meter during a radiological survey, thereby eliminating the need to lay out a survey grid prior to the survey. The location is recorded automatically once each second or when instructed by the operator. The location coordinates are stored directly in the memory of the radiation meter or in a portable field computer, along with the meter's reading, thereby eliminating the need to transcribe the data at the end of the survey. A real-time map of the survey results is available on the portable computer display.
