A Summary and Status of Traceability to National Standards for 252Cf Used at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory

PNNL and the NIST Ionizing Radiation Division have collaborated on several occasions since 1989 in hopes of identifying a suitable method for performing MQA measurements. Several measurement methods have been evaluated with varying agreement and were reported in 1990. Since then, further attempts have been made using additional measurement devices. The results of these evaluations will be summarized in this report along with a description of the various influences of potential neutron scatter and the efforts at PNNL to isolate their effects.
