Calibration and Measurement - Is There a Connection?
G. R. Komp
This paper discusses the overall measurement process necessary to achieve a valid measurement, regulatory requirements for calibration of field survey equipment, and standard calibration techniques. Also discussed are problems in interpreting calibration reports, applying correction factors, and conducting performance checks. All these things must be done correctly for the measurement to be National Institute for Standards and Technology traceable.
