Extension of the Bonner Sphere System

V. Vylet, T. T. Yoshizumi, R. E. Reiman

The purpose of this paper is to present a variation on the Bonner sphere system designed for neutron spectroscopy in high-energy accelerator environments. The design goal was to extend the neutron energy response and enhance neutron energy resolution at the high-energy end. This was achieved by incorporating a lead layer in some moderators and by adding C-11 activation to the detector system.
