Blue Ribbon Commission on America’s Nuclear Future

The Health Physics Society (HPS) commends the Blue Ribbon Commission on America’s Nuclear Future (the BRC) for undertaking the difficult task of devising a new strategy for the management of spent nuclear fuel and associated high-level waste. The HPS supports those key elements of the strategy proposed in the January 2012 report of the BRC that pertain to ensuring the radiation safety of workers and the public and promoting research in radiation safety.

National Press Club Panel on Fukushima Daiichi Accident

The Health Physics Society convened a panel of leading scientific experts on radiation safety at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, on 1 March 2012 for the benefit of invited media personnel. The name of the program was "Risks and Effects of Radiation: Putting Fukushima in Context." Presentation material, the transcript, and video clips of the panel discussion follow.
