News from Jefferson Lab

Bob May
The Workshop on Physics Opportunities with 12 GeV Electrons -- third in a series -- will be held at Jefferson Lab from January 13 to 15. It will largely consist of parallel sessions, aimed at refining and documenting the physics case that is driving the energy upgrade and at reviewing the match between the proposed physics program and the draft plan for instrumentation. For more information, please click here.

This workshop will focus on the capabilities of the three existing experimental halls. Smaller workshops are expected to follow later in the spring to concentrate on individual physics proposals to be presented at the June meeting of the JLab User Group.

In parallel, work continues on developing the science case and equipment needs for the meson spectroscopy initiative ("Hall D"). For news about that project, please click here.
