Due to hurricane budget constraints, the Center for Advanced Microstructures and Devices (CAMD) will be reducing its hours of operation. The final schedule is yet to be published but will be available soon on the CAMD web site.

On a happy note, the Louisiana State University (LSU) student chapter of the Health Physics Society has been established. Its inaugural event was a dinner and a film on the atomic bomb held on December 6, 2005. We wish them luck and a terrific future.

LSU currently offers a master of science degree in health physics or in medical physics. Some 90% of the student population is registered in the medical physics option. There is also a concentration, though not a major, in health physics available at the undergraduate level under the General College. Both graduate programs are located in the Physics Department of LSU. The following courses are offered in the syllabus. It would be interesting to compare course offerings from other health physics programs.
