Linnea Wahl
Greetings from your newest newsletter editor! Let me first introduce myself. I’m an operational health physicist at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, where I’ve worked for the past two years. Before that, I was at Los Alamos National Lab for about 10 years. I’m excited about this opportunity to expand my accelerator radiation protection knowledge by working with the Accelerator Section.

Now let me introduce this issue of the newsletter. Inside, you’ll find messages from the Accelerator Section president and from our correspondent at Brookhaven National Lab. You’ll read details on an up-coming course on accelerator radiation protection in Erice, Sicily. There’s an abstract translated into English from a paper published in French in “Radioprotection.” Scott Schwahn requests information for the Accelerator Section session at the next HPS annual meeting, and Scott Walker recaps the session at the last HPS annual meeting. You’ll also find information about a new Monte Carlo code discussion list. Finally, there’s notice of a job opening at Lawrence Berkeley Lab’s Advanced Light Source (ALS).

I hope you enjoy this issue. Thanks to all who contributed and to all who helped me get this issue out. With your contributions, comments, and suggestions, I hope to make the coming year’s newsletters better than ever. Happy New Year!
