- Linnea Wahl, our valued newsletter editor, was the recipient of the section’s volunteer award. The award reads "Outstanding Volunteer Award: This certificate is awarded to Linnea Wahl in recognition of outstanding contribution to the Accelerator Section." Thanks to Linnea, the newsletter is serving as the main source of exchange of information and an excellent communication tool for the section members and colleagues worldwide.
- The G. William Morgan Lecture was presented by Alberto Fasso from the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center on the "Accelerator Shielding Design: From Protons to Electrons, from America to Europe and Back." Alberto’s account of how communication and exchange of information between Europe and the US have contributed to the accelerator shielding design was very informative and well received.
