Fifth Annual AccApp01 to be Held in Reno, Nevada
Laurie Waters
The Accelerator Applications Division of the American Nuclear Society (ANS) will hold its fifth annual topical meeting, AccApp01, in Reno, Nevada, November 11-15, 2001. This year, the European Accelerator-Driven Transmutation Technology and Applications '01 is cosponsoring the event. Over 200 papers are scheduled for presentation on all aspects of nuclear applications of accelerator technology. We expect a large turnout, enhanced by the fact that this meeting is part of the larger ANS winter meeting activities.
Sessions will include
- Spallation Neutron Sources
- Nuclear Waste Transmutation
- Accelerator Shielding
- Neutronics Tools and Data
- Systems Engineering and Integration
- Materials for Accelerator Applications
- Thermal Hydraulics and Thermal Shock Effects in Targets
- Safety and Source Terms
- Medical Imaging and Therapy
- Accelerator Safety
- Accelerator Driven System Experiments
- Subcritical Assembly Design
- Target Engineering
- Transmutation Fuels
The Accelerator Applications Division of the ANS is open to anyone interested in the end use of accelerators for experimental, commercial/industrial, medical, and other applications. This is the fastest growing division of the ANS.
