The Editor's Corner

Linnea Wahl

I would like first to extend my thanks to all the out-going members of the Accelerator Section's board of directors and then to say congratulations to all the in-coming members of the new board. (The results of the election are reflected in the list of officers in this quarter's newsletter.) I am honored to have the opportunity to work with such an incredible group of radiation safety professionals, both past and future.

This issue of the newsletter is coming to you a bit late--blame it on the summer heat! I waited publication for some late-breaking articles, and I don't think you'll be disappointed. For those who have lost touch with colleagues around the U.S., this issue will bring you all the latest news from Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Fermi National Accelerator Lab, Louisiana State University, Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, and Los Alamos National Lab. Please look also for announcements of courses at the next U.S. Particle Accelerator School and a recapitulation of last year's Accelerator Section activities in the section 2001-2002 annual report.

Here's to a good year past and an even better year coming. Have a safe summer and stay cool!
