Can You Help?
Larry Boing
As part of a study for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Larry Boing of Argonne National Lab is compiling an inventory of all types of particle accelerators--large and small, operating and decommissioned. The purpose of the study is to determine the status of particle accelerator facilities around the world.
To meet this goal, we're looking for specific information on the
- name and location of the accelerator facility,
- integral parts of the facility (such as LINAC, storage ring, etc.),
- maximum machine operating energies,
- name of the facility operator,
- regulatory authority over the facility,
- date of operational start-up and shutdown, and
- web site location, if the facility is shut down.
Remember, we're interested in machines that have been removed from service, as well as those that are still operational. No machine is too big or too small for our inventory!
If you can help by providing this information, please contact Larry Boing at by e-mail or phone (630-252-6729).
