International Workshop on Radiation Safety at Synchrotron Radiation Sources

What is the scope of the workshop? There are nearly 30 operating synchrotron radiation sources in the world. There are also several more synchrotron radiation sources in different stages of design and construction. This workshop will establish a forum for experts in radiation safety at synchrotron radiation sources to meet and discuss the specific radiation safety and protection issues of these facilities. This kind of dialogue will immensely benefit the design and operation of the present and future synchrotron radiation sources.

The objectives of the workshop are to

• Bring together radiation physicists and radiation safety personnel from synchrotron radiation sources in one forum,
• Promote the exchange of scientific information that mutually benefits radiation physicists and radiation safety personnel from synchrotron radiation sources,
• Identify areas of radiation measurements and shielding calculations for the present and future synchrotron radiation sources, and
• Plan and initiate specific collaborative efforts in radiation physics between these facilities.
